We are delighted to welcome Monica Scott, Morris County resident, to share the story of her ancestor, Molly Bannaky, a 15th-century English dairy maid.
When a cow knocks over a pail of milk, 17-year old Molly goes on trial for theft, punishable by death in 1683 England. The court spares her life and sends her to the American colonies as an indentured servant.
Monica will read Molly's biography, covering her survival and American life. She will also talk about Molly's many descendants and their lives alongside important moments in U.S. history. Monica is Molly's 10th-generation granddaughter.
