The New Jersey Office of Planning Advocacy, together with Morris County, has scheduled a public meeting on February 28, 2025. The meeting will address the draft preliminary State Development and Redevelopment Plan (State Plan) and discuss how public and private entities can provide feedback. This session is set to occur from 10 a.m. to noon at the Morris County Administration & Records Building in Morristown. An alternative date of March 7, 2025, is planned in case of adverse weather conditions.
While the meeting can be attended via Zoom, only those present in person will have the opportunity to comment during the proceedings. The State Plan aims to align planning activities across various sectors including land use, housing, economic development, transportation, natural resource conservation, and more.
The focus of this particular meeting will be on the 11 municipalities where Morris County acts as a liaison with state officials for the State Plan's development. These municipalities are Lincoln Park, Pequannock, East Hanover, Florham Park, Chatham Borough, Chatham Township, Morris Plains, Morris Township, Randolph, Long Hill and Madison.
For those unable to attend in person but wishing to provide input or comments on the State Plan project can do so via email at stateplan@co.morris.nj.us or directly through a survey or by emailing stateplan.comments@sos.nj.gov.
Additionally, an informational meeting hosted by the New Jersey Highlands Council is set for February 20, 2025. This session will take place at their offices in Chester and will concentrate on both Morris County municipalities and others outside it for which they serve as a liaison in collaboration with state officials.
