A Code Blue Alert has been issued for Morris County, effective from December 3 to December 8, between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. each night. This alert is in response to the dangerously cold weather forecasted for the area.

The alert is triggered when temperatures drop below freezing, posing a threat to individuals without shelter. The county takes measures during these conditions to ensure that emergency shelters and warming stations are available for those in need.

Morris County's Office of Emergency Management is collaborating with local agencies to provide adequate shelter options for individuals facing the cold without proper accommodation or heating facilities. Warming shelters will be activated throughout this period to offer refuge.

Individuals requiring assistance are advised to contact the Morris County Office of Temporary Assistance at 973-829-8264 for emergency shelter or additional support. For more information on Code Blue activations and available centers, visit https://nj211.org/njcodeblue.
