Morris County and Somerset County law enforcement officials have addressed public concerns regarding recent drone activity in the area. Authorities, including Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll and Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald, have confirmed that there is no known threat to public safety despite recurring reports of drone sightings.

The statement from local law enforcement agencies highlights ongoing cooperation with federal and state partners such as the FBI-Newark, New Jersey State Police, and the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness. "County and local law enforcement agencies are aware of the recurring reports of drone activity around Morris and Somerset counties, and acknowledge the public’s concern about these repeated sightings," they stated.

Officials urge residents to report any information related to drone sightings. The FBI - Newark has provided a contact number for tips: 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324), or information can be submitted online at tips.fbi.gov. Videos can also be uploaded through this website.

For further details on drones or Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), residents are directed to visit the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness website.
