Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Work First New Jersey (WFNJ) recipients have the opportunity to request replacements for benefits stolen electronically between September 1, 2023, and December 20, 2024. Benefits stolen after December 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement due to a change in the federal budget.

Recipients who suspect their benefits were stolen during the specified period must complete and return a Request for Replacement Form within 30 days of discovering the theft. Additionally, they should immediately re-PIN or replace their Families First Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.

The form can be completed and submitted online at https://nj.gov/humanservices/dfd/resources/stolen. Alternatively, it can be printed for mailing or dropped off in person at a County Social Service Agency. Recipients may also call their County Social Service Agency to complete the form over the phone.

To enhance security, new features will soon allow users to lock their Families First card when not in use and receive alerts for transactions or account changes. Updates on these features will be available at www.NJSNAP.gov.

In the meantime, recipients are advised to change their PIN monthly, ideally before benefit deposits. This can be done online at www.NJFamiliesFirst.com or via the ConnectEBT app.
