Morris County, in collaboration with its municipalities, has revised its 2020 Multi-Jurisdictional Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. This essential document assists communities in recognizing risks, evaluating vulnerabilities, and forming strategies to mitigate potential losses from natural disasters.

An updated plan is essential to maintain eligibility for federal funds intended to reduce hazard risks.

To finalize the review process, Morris County seeks input from residents. Community feedback is crucial in shaping strategies for hazard mitigation, allowing officials to address local issues and enhance disaster preparedness.

A draft of the updated plan is accessible on Morris County's official website, where comments can be submitted via an included link.

Residents are urged to contribute their insights on how the county can better safeguard people, property, and infrastructure from future calamities.

The public comment period is open until April 11, 2025. All responses will be kept anonymous.
