Morris County law enforcement is set to participate in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This annual national initiative, organized by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Administration, promotes the safe and responsible disposal of unused, unwanted, or expired prescription medications. The initiative also seeks to inform the public about the risks of pharmaceutical abuse.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and Morris County Sheriff’s Office, alongside several local police departments—namely Hanover Township Police Department, Morris Plains Police Department, Morris Township Police Department, and Randolph Township Police Department—will establish satellite collection sites on April 26. These sites are located at:
- 690 Millbrook Ave., Randolph, NJ 07869
- 178 East Hanover Ave., Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927
- 245 Littleton Road (U.S. 202), Morris Plains, NJ 07950
At the end of the collection event, all gathered medications will be entrusted to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office for safe destruction. Residents not attending the event can use permanent drop box locations throughout the county. A complete list of these locations is provided online.
